Ushashi

USHASHI – The Science Club of Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College was established with a view to enhance scientific awareness among students.

It is not possible for most of the students to go deep into the syllabus and master vast knowledge in a short time which becomes a hindrance in every step in their future life. Proper scientific knowledge is the combination of theoretical curriculum and practical application. The main objective of USHASHI is to propagate scientific knowledge which we have acquired amongst others and to try to get additional knowledge from other knowledgeable persons. USHASHI aims towards the development of creativity, concentration, independent thinking on scientific matter, collective work, and technical qualification. USHASHI organizes scientific seminars, science exhibitions, workshops and publishes yearly magazine. USHASHI makes simple scientific instruments which help us in conducting experiments. To achieve the above mentioned goals USHASHI was officially registered on 23 rd of December '03 with 50 students as its members.

USHASHI got its initial invitation from N.K.PAL Higher Secondary School, ADARSHA SIKSHAYATAN to give a lecture on Atomic Theory, Free Electronics Concept, Brand structure or Crystal, Vacuum tube, Semiconductor – property and uses.

Three members- Shibabrata Bhattacharya, Anku Bhuyia, Partha Sarathi Banerjee along with Dr. Priyotosh Khan, Prof. Sudipta Ghosh, Prof. Ranjit Ghosh and Prof. Rajendra Prasad Ghosh showed them some practical devices like Valve Diode, P-N Junction Diode. The seminar was followed by an interactive session and it was highly appreciated by the students.
