The department of Botany which started with 15 students in the general course with Smt. Gargi Nag as the teaching faculty has expanded over the last year with more than 30 students at present. The department has a well set laboratory, library facilities, helpful staff and a conducive working environment. The deparment regularly arranges study tours, field visits, seminars and tutorial sessions for the students. The first set of students has appeared for B.Sc. Part I examination in May 2004
