National Cadet Corps

 

 

General Background

 

The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, Colleges and Unievrsities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

 

N.C.C. at J.C.C. College

 

N.C.C. activities started in the College since 1991. Students of our College, both male and female, are enrolled into Company 3, under the 31st Bengal Battalion (under West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate). Captain Dr. Bipradas Rit is the associated N.C.C. officer of this Company.

 

Activities of N.C.C. - J.C.C. College

 

1. N.C.C. cadets attend year-long training at Fort Williams on drill, physical training, weapon training and lecture classes, which they practice in College.

3. Cadets also participate in the following programmes every year:

a. Road Safety Week organised by Kolkata Police

b. Blood Donation Camp organised by N.C.C. Club House
