The summarized picture of the Hindi Department of the College over the last 40 years is as follows:-

1965: Inauguration as a one-man department, with Mr. Harihar Tiwari and a few students.

1966: Alp Kaleen Adhyapan (Part Time Teaching) started under the able guidance of three-teachers.

1980: Mr. Tiwari retired after 15 years of dedicated service.

1993: Dr. Sunanda Raychowdhury took up the responsibilities alone before the appointment of accomplished part-timers.

2000: Hindi Honours was introduced.

The preparation of the first batch and second batch of Hindi Honours were up to the mark. The intake capacity of this department is 20. The succeeding batches are being prepared with equal care and guidance. Proper perseverance and tenacity will help the department to take its achievements to further heights. From 1993 on the special occasion of Hindi Divas (14 th September) a seminar has been arranged for putting forward the importance of Literature in life.
