The department of Zoology also set working with 15 students who enrolled in the first batch of B.Sc. Bio-Science general course with Smt. Debjani Chatterjee as the teaching faculty. Within a span of less than a year, the department is now well organized with a new but equipped laboratory, library facilities, a team of energetic and helpful staff and most of all a healthy working

environment. Regular appraisal tests, extended facilities like study tours, field trips etc., seminars and tutorial sessions are provided to the students by the department. The department now has 2 batches of students. Its first batch of students appeared in the B.Sc. Part I examination in May 2004.
